In Concert: Bridging AI Systems and Network Infrastructure through MCP
Artificial intelligence (AI) and network infrastructure often operate as separate systems today, each performing well independently, but unable to communicate. It’s like having talented musicians each playing their own instrument, and vocalists each singing their own scales, but unable to perform a concert because they lack the aligned sheet music needed to perform together.
The current separation prevents AI applications from accessing real-time network intelligence to address connectivity challenges or enhance digital experiences. This paper describes how an AI application can integrate with network infrastructure by connecting network-exposed APIs with AI technology through Model Context Protocol (MCP).
